Model United Nations

For Model United Nations this year students will attend a three day conference that simulates the actual United Nation. Students will discuss current world issues including human rights, refugees, crime prevention, drug trafficking, and economic development. Once a Model United Nations assembly begins, you are no longer a student - you are the ambassador from another country in a United Nations council.

The delegates will be a member of General Assembly I or II, Economic-Social Council, Security Council, International Court of Justice (requires application), Press Corps (requires application), or Secretariat.

Delegates must develop a comprehensive understanding of the nations they represent by researching their histories, political ideology, governmental, economic, and social structures (see research links). This knowledge must be applied in representing the nations' official position on international issues at the conference as well as in a required position statement on your country's view on three assigned topics.
