Take the Challenge, Be Ready to Serve!
In this time of need, the Louisiana YMCA Youth and Government Program recognizes this unique opportunity to strengthen our communities by making a positive, lasting impact. Now, more than ever, the youth of today are the strength of tomorrow.
The Youth and Government Program sponsors Hi-Y and Tri-Hi-Y clubs throughout the state. The clubs are run by student officers that go through leadership training with their local YMCA. Club members participate in community service, two state conferences held annually in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and the national conference, CONA, held in North Carolina each year. Youth Legislature and Model United Nations are student run. They allow students to discover government, practice public speaking, meet new friends, learn parliamentary procedure, and research global issues.
